What is Calendula Infused Oil

Calendula oil belongs to the Asteraceae family, also known as evergreen or marigold. It is an annual herb with fine hairs all over the plant and yellow or orange flowers. Calendula oil is obtained by hand-picking the flower part of the marigold, drying it, and then soaking it in a stable medium oil for extraction. This is the most common extraction method. Calendula oil has some woody and musky smells, and the fat-soluble active substances of calendula are retained in the soaked oil. Olive oil, coconut oil or sunflower oil can usually be chosen for soaking.

Calendula infused oil is rich in carotene, terpenes, long-chain fatty acids, juniper alcohol, linoleic acid and palmitic acid. It has mild ingredients and is suitable for babies and pregnant women.
